Default Anyone holding back on us?

Lots of new toys available now, it seems like just yesterday we were talking about the lack of aftermarket support for the Z.

Lots of good/bad reviews for some of these products, but one thing thats missing lately is dyno sheets and time slips. It's almost as though no one is interested in posting these anymore. I keep reading posts saying "I'm gonna dyno it next week" but 2-3 weeks later no news.

Intakes, plenum, ecu, pullies, headers, cat pipes, dual exhausts.

Just curious, anyone dyno this combo yet? I don't think i've seen any hit over 250 yet (NA). And i'm not talking about manuf. biased dyno sheets. I'm sure more than a few of you have done this combination, or are at least close to it. Any of you lurkers keeping info to yourselves? Lets hear it!

We had an "official" 1/4 mile thread, how about an official power chart thread.

Borla got 20rwhp with their exhaust too, but most members here got no more than 10.

Not discrediting your numbers at all, i'm a firm believer in the crawford plenum, it has definitely proven it's place as a great peformance mod. But, I'm sure we'd all like to see some more independent results on paper. I still haven't seen anyone else post their dyno w/ it installed. Just a lot of "wow, I can really feel it."

Yeah, zxsaint, we haven't really gotten any good results yet. j's350z got some great results though. But the more we can get, the better off we are for it. Now, there are not that many out there to wonder about, lol. Besides FI, which we know makes power, everything else is like 10 HP. Now, I would like to see some of these mods function together in a dyno........

There are a few posts on the HiTech cats back..

20-24rwhp between the two guys who installed it. I know for one they did independant dynos which is what i want to see.

I recall seeing an independant dyno for the crawford plenum too. Can't locate it now. Wish i saved those pics... :-/

JASON, can you get an independant dnyo done on your piggyback afm unit? I trust your results BUT you need to confirm them on a stock car that belongs to someone else. I mean you could have spent hours getting to that.
If you sent me an smt6 would i get those results? Thats the question people want answered.

btw the above 3 mods are the only mods i'd consider worth while right now for a NA application. That and mybe a lightened flywheel.

more dynos is all i can say

Hey Zxsaint ,

Okay so I did the dyno today @ Paragon Tuning here in Aurora colorado. I only did one run which kinda sucks for 60 bucks. Next time around I wanna get more than one run in . evelation is around 5680', and the tempterature was HOT AS HELL . Ambient was 97 @ the dyno shop with inside the building actually being 102 F. But for simplicity, I went to the more conservative weather.com which said it was only 90 F (bull$hit). Anyhow I put 240.1 hp & 228.6 lb/tq on that 1 run. With relative SAE corrections that came out 301 & 286 respectively . Which is quite suprising, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt none-the-less till I can get some cams and UR pulleys . The combo definately puts out power and I wont argue that at all! . My butt dyno agrees with the dynos as I the car is a LOT more improved from when I first had it . I highly recommend the combo

P.s., Im trying to get as much power NA before I go FI sometime maybe next year.

Looking at these numbers, my guess is that it seems NA breathing mods for the Z are capped to a limited gain of ~20hp.

Cams/Pulley/Flywheel is where the next 20hp can be gained.

Look at my Signature. Those were STOCK numbers before any mods...

I need some time off to take it back to the DYNO again...

Great compilation zxsaint . Cams will always net you good gains but of course the price sucks lol. I wonder if you advance the timing +2 degrees, if that will register any measureable hp or tq increase in the mid range? Hmmm I should try

True, but I meant more like bolt-on tubes/piping for aspiration & exhaust.

But you're definitely right.

I believe there was another thread where members listed their 1320' ET's.

I'll gladly add them to this list once we update it, but HP vs. ET is not a great reference point since 5-10hp isn't going to make a world of a difference given the # of variables in drag racing.

Tires generally do more than HP mods.
