Unhappy Auto tranny to Manual conversion

Does anyone know if this is even possible? I regret so much now that i bought an A/T z. I bought it because i felt that traffic was too much of an issue here in Atlanta and that there was too much stop and go. Even still, the A/T in my opinion is not fun at all to drive. I WANT MANUAL!!!!!! Anyone know if its even possible and if so, how much it would cost to switch the whole tranny out?

easier to sell your z and buy a m/t, it's a loss but better than swap imho.

and yes it's possible with the proper tools and money.

A lot more than trading for a manual Z. For one thing, conversions are immediately worth a whole lot less money because anyone that does it for you will not work for Nissan Manufacturing. I, and most of the drivers I know, wouldn't buy it for more than 40-50% of the sticker price and we would immediately re-install the AT, if the car wasn't chopped up. If it was, I wouldn't buy it at all.

Very, very, bad expensive idea. Trade or keep the car until you won't lose too much money on a trade-in.

I agree!
It would cost you a ton of $$$ to swap, and now that there are $hitloads of Z's being sold everywhere, it would be easier to sell yours & buy a 6 spd. Yes, you will lose money, but you would spend much more with a swap, MUCH more!

& in the end (if you do the swap, which is dumb in my opinion) you would have a "modified car" that will not be as dependable as stock & you will have NO warranty on the transmission & trust me, that is the one thing you NEED on a 350z (warranty for the trans!) I would know, I'm on my 2nd one

It will be cheaper & much easier to sell your car & buy a 6 spd (buy it used)
good luck!

Maybe you can try to find someone who regretted getting a 6MT and you guys can just switch.

Well, figure at least $2000 for a tranny, then maybe another 10-20 hours of labor? Maybe more? $3000-4000? Probably more.
