150 shot is too much for my 19s! :(

I drove it when he cruised up with ET Streets on his stock track wheels, and there wasn't traction to be found! Haha. Launching at 6k on slicks Mike?!?!
Dude... let me know and I WILL be there cheering you on!

mjedens: great job on your ETs. keep it up. good choice on the NOS Splitter. NOS parts are by far the easiest to get.
Correction....nevermind my earlier comment. I just re-read and he did 12.37. I def need drags to make that time.

Hey guys,
For all the people that are spraying their cars, what are your trap speeds like in the 1/4? I myself could care less about E/T, as I rarely do any racing from the line anyway. I am more concerned with MPH as that is the kind of power I look for and use everyday.
Thanks in advance,
Jay

My last run was next to my friends MKIV Supra turbo. He has modifications but on stock turbos he ran 11.63 @ 124 mph! And after racing him side by side, i know i will never get that fast with stock motor and nos. It was simply amazing. You know the scene in fnf 1 where the cars hit nos and the cars seem to go warp speed? well thats what his car looked like midway up the track. He left me so bad i felt like selling my car.

Matt on the recent runs where you lost tracking in most gears, what did your car trap on all the runs?
I understand you want to run the car at the strip, the way you drive on the street, I like to do the same, but when you get the TT kit, you'll have even less traction. Are you still gonna run 19's and street tires then?

When i go twin turbo, my 350Z will barely see open roads, so that is when i will switch to drags and some lightweight 16"wheels. But the tt kit not even close to being started.

The rules are not rules of racing, rather physics. I am no brainiac, but it is as common sense as rotational mass. As an extreme example, picture you have in front of you a 10 ft metal ball and a 3 ft metal ball. It would take less of your energy to roll the 3ft tall ball, if all conditions were similar and ideal for both.
Also, less wheel = more tire. Tires win races. If i had to bet for money and was given the choice of a new titanum dual exhaust that claimed 30whp or drag slicks, i take the drags!
the reason i am being stubborn is I like to race the way I drive everyday. If someone wants to run me, i am not gonna go home and put on drags and come back. I dont street race anyway.
I mean imagine if every magazine tested their cars with drags or slicks. The reason they dont is for real world applications it means nothing! I drive a hooked up 350z as my daily driver. not as a weekend race car. Once that changes and i start building the z into my race car, thats when i will have autox tires, drifitng tires, and drag tires.

BTW, I agree with you, I don't like to do drags either, although it would be quite easy with the 17s sittin' in my garage.

hey mat...Whats up, sorry you got kicked out of the track that night..that sucks.I just want you to know that we can set up a date to meet down there and i will bring my 18" drag radials on stock rims..they helped me tremendously I ran a 13.1 at 107.8 on a smaller dry set up.I was running a .40 dry jet at the time. Now I went up to a .46 jet but ran a 13.4 with bad traction..We can meet early one week and switch the wheels between runs(if we have enough time..lol)I bet you hit 12.5 with the dr's easy...I know i will hit 12.7 or 12.8 with them...
