syncro rev match on 350Z?
Hi, I was wondering if it were possible to install the "syncro rev match" system, thats available on the new 370z, into my '05 350z? I've read that the two manual transmissions are basically the same, with the exception of of the "syncro rev match" system.

I'm guessing it would have something to do with the ECU so I guess if you could obtain a programmer to put those premeters into the code you might be able to have it? Total guess but I basiclly think it is done through with the ECU.

no need to be asses, a simple "no" would suffice. I first heard about "syncro rev match" this week, and was pretty impressed. At first, I thought it was nissan's newly developed tranny, but in the current issue(Dec) of road and track;
"What's notable here is the 6-speed manual transmission. It's basically the same unit as before, but now has what Nissan calls Synchro Rev Matching. This slick system automatically matches revs on downshifts. From the time you take the Z's shifter out of gear, computers monitor the shift lever's movement and anticipate a downshift. It then matches revs perfectly as you grab a lower gear: All you need to do is brake and clutch. It's faster and more precise than conventional heel-and-toeing."
So, I thought "same tranny? maybe it is possible"... i think its a genuine piece of tech i would gladly pay for, considering i suck at heal to toe.

I think it sounds like a good question. If its really only controlled by the ECU, then i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to develop one to be retrofitted to the 350Z. Cost, however might be another issue, and all the sensors that would be required on the gear shifter.
Still plausible though.

I doubt it'll be possible. If computers monitor this, then you'll probably also need the ECU of 370Z, and I highly doubt the 370Z's ECU will be compatible with a 350Z. It simply sounds like too much of a hassle.

Well, essentially, all the ECU is doing is monitoring driving behavior and shift position, and predicting the gear that will be selected from these parameters. I'm by no means saying it's cheap and easy, and unless the 350 is the only car of your dreams and want it to be the best thing in the world, then yes, a little heal and toe works out a bit cheaper.
All im saying is that it could be possible if you had the coin.
