So I swapped my Defi oil temp for an EGT (since I already have my mani tapped for one) and I can't figure this ufcking thing out.

The ufcking probe doesn't want to stay in place. How the hell does it stay in place? I looked at the diagram in the instruction book but it doesn't help for ****.

isnt there a weld on bung that it threads onto? unless were talking about the wrong bung.

 

No weld on... it's a 1/8 NPT fitting that you need to tap into the exhaust manifold. There's another piece that threads onto the fitting and two small pieces that go inside. The probe goes straight through both fittings and the two small pieces but nothing holds the bung from coming out (or I'm doing it wrong).

 

ahh you are correct, maybe add some sort of thread tape, or jb weld that ***** in there. if its coming loose it may have been tapped too big?

I have a Defi EGT.... My probe stays in fine... Just screws into the bung. Might wanna get a bung welded on? Maybe try a lock washer?

 

I figured out the problem. I was missing the piece that crushes and holds the probe in place.

I somehow ended up with the cone piece and some other random something that was in my garage.
