Is it the tranny or the engine? Try turning off the TC. I have had that happen when I put on my DR's. I know you haven't done any tire swaps, but it's worth trying.

Think I should have him install the Transgo kit while hes in it?
A friend told me the kit makes the tranny safer since less slipping

 

If he is a VERY good mechanic, then do the install, The valve body of our tranny is very complicated compared with simple trannys, and the TransGo kit is also a bit complicated for a regular mechanic.

i say send ur vb to GTM since you have a betear

EDIT: Make sure he worked with TransGo kits before if u decide to install the kit there

Just had the Transgo VB put in my 5AT today by The Z Car Garage and it Rocks!!!! Shifts fast enough to kick the tail out up through 4th. ( haven't had a chance to try 5th yet.). What a difference....can't wait to take it to the track next week. The stilllen VB was a POS.

how much did if cost you to get it install. how long did it take.

 

im getting mine done this coming week! Its the same transgo upgrade kit that GTM uses, but im getting it installed at Specialty Z in Chatsworth. I'll also have an upgraded transmission fluid cooler added to it too

 

I just installed B&M Cooler, it works great , and very good quality ..

 

Congrats on the VB upgrade id recomend a tranny cooler if you track your car more often, or if your going FI

 

I have had a tranny cooler on the Z for a few years. I put one on any vehicle I have with an auto tranny.

 

It took ZCG 4 hours, so whatever your shop charges per hour would determine your cost.

Thanks! I should be able to advance a few places in the S/C stats. I plan on going next Weds if the weather is OK. It is raining like hell here now.

The Z is going to be much more fun now.

btw: The Z Car Garage has a 370Z 6MT now and they wanted me to beat it up a little bit while I was waiting for my car. I have to say it "FELT" faster than mine, but I know it isn't. those things pull like a V8! They are probably going to run it Weds and I can let you know what it turns. They also had a 600+HP GTR in there that is going to be in the gumball rally in a week or so. They wouldn't let me drive it.
