Default Differential.... which one do I have??

Ok, so this may be the dumbest question of the year, but is there any way (other than opening up the pumpkin) to tell if my car has limited slip installed?? its an 05 6mt base, but there were other little things done performance wise to the car so I think it may have been upgraded by the previous owner.

When doing burnouts... (who doesnt do those! ) both rear wheels spin. And with the rear end off the ground and I spin the drivers side tire, the passengers tire spins the opposite way... is this a characteristic of the LSD, or all rear ends?

thanks..!

Open diff. If you had an LSD, both wheels would spin in the same direction. Even though you have a base, it is still possible that both wheels will spin when doing a burnout.

I disagree... and with an open differential you'll only get one wheel smoking during a burnout... which is kinda embarrassing

I agree only because I am not used to the LSDs. when drifting its easier to control ODs for me because only one wheel is spinning providing very good traction and better reaction (slower) times...

when I drive my friends cars with LSDs the back in whips out way too fast than what I am used to therefore making me look dumb and not having too much fun in the process...lol
its all realtive really
but in the grand scheme LSDs are better and every single drift car in the pro series has one.

I will be getting one as well.
