Please ignore most of the inane posts about shoving it into gear. Give the synchros some time to do their job. If you are shifting correctly it should easily slide into gear. The two that said you are probably re engaging the clutch too soon may be correct...but whatever you do don't just slam it through. It is NOT an on off switch!

This may sound dumb, but move your seat up a little.

I think your just switching gears to fast, i had this problem at first. Just ease threw the gears dont slam threw them its hard on the syncros. Double clutch if you need.

yeah.. lol im strong and big enough for those who say go to the gym. i go twice a day 5 days a week anyways...
i feel that grinding noise.. and i feel like its breaking the car i dont want anything to happen 2 my baby hahah.
soo that grinding noise is bad it has 2 be.. but see when i rev out my car if it makes sense i can shift easy but if i shift at 2-4 000 rpm it gets stuck or its bumpy...

if its grinding that you havent pressed the clutch all the way.
are you sure the clutch is depressed all the way when you shift?

does it seem easier to engage the gears all the way w/ the car off? how does the clutch pedal feel? You could have a failing pressure plate, or hydraulic component that would cause the clutch not to disengage 100% and that will give you that issue. W/ a low post count, i'm assuming you just got the car, an easy way to tell if its just your driving style or something wrong would be to drive some other Zs or let someone else drive yours. Give us some more details on the car itself. Year, miles etc.

I thought that too until it started to grind and Nissan had to get me a new one.

sorry you started it...lol

the 300Hp (rev-up) cars did have a bad batch of tranny synchros... my buddy had one swapped out just a few weeks ago at the dealer for free.... he has a 2005 IP G like me... but my tranny is fine thus far.

OP
you problably need to hold the clutch.... also when you extend your arms the sterring wheel should be at your wrist. This is for racing, not everyday driving...put your seat up like TreeFiddyZee said.

Another scenerio might be that you need to change the tranny fluid. How many miles are on the car?

i have a real heavy oil in my tranny and i can tell you the temp outside within 5 degrees by how long it takes me to get it into 2nd or 5th gear(till the tranny warms up), just shift a little slower and you should be ok

Could be an internal issue with the transmission or just not timing the shifts right with the clutch release. Either one is a strong possibility.

for the breakes I think you should be fine (performance breakes). The Z is a very noisy car.

Do you have brembos?
