Default head gasket similarites ???

Ok not a usual question but could some one cross reference nissan inventory...? I'm curious if the vq35de head gasket has the same bolt patteren and ports as the vq35hr or the vq37...? And or which head gasket are interchangble with what vq motors... Because if the headgaskets match there's some frankenstine possiblities... That I'm curious about

sensors and brackets I can tap or fab or plug close... so pretty much I just need to know if the heads or decks have the same patterens and same size... plus it's cost productive to have simaliarties... why is the vq motor been used in so many models of nissan? you really think nissan is better than every other company that cuts cost by not haveing interchangable or similar parts?

I'm guessing the head gasket are different but I'm curious to the simalarites like if the bolt pattern and the combustion chambers are the same the only differecnce is just an extra oil port or something along those lines, stuff like that....

as cocky said......they work. the HR gaskets redirect coolant flow than the DE......a good thing, I beleive.

the bigger issue is to look at how the timign cover mates up to the heads. I don't have any HR heads to compare to. I assume you are thinking of trying to use HR heads on a DE.

vice versa DE heads on a HR bottom... is what I'm wanting to try lol and I"m really wanting to get that 3.7 liter with DE heads... I know I"ll need a new hood and everything... I just need to know if the 3.7 is the same bore with a longer stroke than the 3.5.... the timing cover could become an issue and your right I still need to find out the similarities of those as well... but I figured if they didn't work I would be able cut the HR timing cover in half right at the heads and than weld on the de top to it....

but HR heads on a DE doesn't sound half bad either.... seems like a lil more work, the wiring and the ecu on top of everything else

sorry just stroke increased, not bore - anyway, you can google all this stuff too

VQ35DE (including revup) - 95.5 mm bore, 81.4 mm stroke
VQ35HR - 95.5 mm bore, 81.4 mm stroke (dec height is taller than DE..IIRC it's about 6mm, don't quote me)
VQ37HR - 95.5mm bore x 86.0mm stroke
