Default Do not buy pulstar plugs!!!!!

I am so mad at these guys!

A few months ago I neded to replace my spark plugs and decided to give Pulstar spark plugs a shot. 1 month ago I went to Austin, TX to Uprev to get my 2003 350z tuned. They asked me about the Pulstars and said they were curious to see if they really worked. We did 3 base pulls and then installed a brand new set of NGK plugs and did 3 more pulls. The results reflect the highest numbers from each set of plugs.

RESULTS:
Pulstar: 245.24 whp 231.19 lb/ft torque
NGK: 246.27 whp 232.39 lb/ft torque

So yeah, after $150 I am 1.2 hp short.

I called them up and they were extremely unhelpful and told me I was on my own, so I am posting this. I will be going to Kinkos and scan the dyno sheets after work today so you all can see.

I put them on to test them out and had them dyno'd like 3,000 miles later. I got 246.24 whp with the Pulstars on. Then we took them out

you didnt lose horsepower, if you ran two back to back dynos with the ngk you very easily have a 1.5whp difference. i hope you didnt buy those pulstars thinking you would actually gain anything from them.

Thanks for posting. That's within the margin of error for a dyno run.

What kind of gains were you expecting from spark plugs?

Since you already bought the plugs, run them for a while... see what happens and make note of your gas milage... you never know...

been seeing reports of plugs going bad in less the 10 k as well, thanks for doing the test though.

snake oil doesn't have to work, you just need to sell enough before the word gets out.

this product is a classic example of a marketing firm developing a product instead of grass roots development.

Doubt if spark plugs make horsepower. Any spark plugs.

The numbers you are quoting are within the range of dyno error. In other words those differences can be read without any changes to the motor.

I had them for 3 weeks and it burnt them up. Tried to call and get my money back and got nothing. I emailed them and never got anything back. It burnt the ends clear off of them. All I had was a intake, exhaust, and spacer when it happened. There was supposed to be a money back thing if you wernt satisfied in a months time. Nothin but bs.

The second time around what plugs did you go with the OEM NGK or the Iridium NGK?

I wouldn't waste time and money into spark plugs. They all do the same thing; create a high intensity spark to ignite the air/fuel within the chamber. All us engine builders already know the facts, I won't contribute to marketing gimmicks here. If you had forced induction then yes upgrading your plugs to a colder range will benefit you, but n/a setups; a properly gapped plug is perfectly fine. You need to understand that it's a placebo effect.

Also, you just stated right there why the ngk performed better. THEY WERE BRAND NEW; without any carbon deposits built up on them yet. Run them for the same amount of time and retest against some new Pulstar's. The Pulstars will have higher HP #'s again... because they're brand new without carbon deposits building up on them.
