Default Advice on 350Z modification

I currently have a DB Track 350z. Don't get me wrong, the power and speed are great but I'm nopt completley satisfied. I'm very naive to the whole modification of cars neighborhood. So, I need to know what are some effective bolt on parts for the Z. Im not looking to be a 400+ HP monster, just something to give it a little boost.

Contact Greg Vogel at Mossy Nissan, parts manager tollfree 866-55mossy. Greg/Mossy have a project 350Z. He is constantly putting parts on it and dynos it each time thus he knows a bunch of parts you can put on it and has a dyno result for each one. He does not put 2 or 3 parts on at a time thus you will know eactly each part will give you in hp. Right now, he has got over 30hp over his stock baseline hp. He can sell you these parts (if you like) and ship them or you can find them at Nissan and other places near you. He is using NISMO/Nissan parts and aftermarket too.
I hope this helps...ps, tell him Jeff Wisener recommended you.

One more thing i should mention about Greg, since i am speaking so highly of him but you need options right? Greg races the car thus when you speak to him, he is not just selling you parts he is not using. I know he is currently using NISMO S suspension but did have Eibach springs on it before.

BTW, you got a pm ugyjig.

I do not know if it is an issue back there but here, passing smog is a problem in California. My suggestion is to make sure every mod passes smog since you are only looking for some extra hp and not extreme hp.

You do not want to have to take off parts to pass a smog test. If you ask Greg, he has air intakes etc that will do that. Not all will pass smog so be careful. Also, a lot of mods will actually loss hp so do not listen to a salesmans "claims of hp". The only valid measure is a baseline dyno on the car before and after the mod.

BTW, welcome on the website. Just keep asking, there is a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful people here.

Besides the NISMO stuffs, which are great, you should consider the Crawford Z Plenum. Do a search on this topic and you will find a plethora of info and praises on something that is so easy to put on, and yet gives real world performance!

Thanks for all the advice!!!

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced a traction control shutoff. First a little backround. I was goofing around doing some donuts and burnouts for the camera, harmless, nothing too extreme. I noticed that my "VDC OFF" and "SLIP" light were on (meaning that traction control and limited slip were off) and i could not turn them back on. So essentially I was not able to turn traction on or off. This only happens with donuts or burnouts. I guess it is more along the lines of sudden high revs and wheelspin. It may just be me but this dosent seem like something that should happen. Could it be a defect? Any input is much appreciated

Ugyjig,

Definitely give Jeff a call. He is one of the few sales people who are actually into performance! He's there to help answer your questions and give you a good price! He has gone beyond the call of duty for me in multiple instances. I can't thank him enough .

Ok, end of my shameless plug
