Default How much are the transmission losses % in a 350z

Hi

Does anyone know how much the transmission losses (%) are in a 350z? I've heard it is around 15-17%. Does anyone know more information?

Thanks for any help.

Im not worried about what gets lost. Just concentrate on what gets the the rear tires.

Yet another load of helpful members.

I believe it's around what you mentioned, obviously depending on your clutch condition, the quality of the oil in your gearbox etc...

Seriously, if you're new member and you ask a question you either get ridiculed or ignored. Yesterday in the CD009 thread, which a couple of spaces down from this one, I asked if it had lower gear ratios than the trans in the 07-08 Zs, because I thought I heard something like that, and if it will fit 07 350Z, but there's no answer . I mean its not like its one of those questions that someones makes a thread for every week. How do these people expect this community to grow if they don't want to help other people get more knowledgeable.

On average, 6mt non-revup's dyno in the 230rwhp range DJ. Let's just say 235rwhp. That's for the 287hp motor. You figure about 18% loss.

My 8-10% number is in addition to what the MT loses. For example: A guy with the exact same mods as I had put down 425whp(6MT) and I put down 390whp(5AT) on the same dyno, same conditions, same everything.

its a forum, theres gonna be all that nonsense, but eventually you'll get an accurate answer..just gotta be patient lol. as for the cd009, it wont fit with the 07+hr, the transmission is different

coach k and tranceformers numbers are right about drivetrain loss
