Can't see a huge marketing reason to make an aftermarket driveshaft. Especially a carbon-composite one.

i just though there might be something more durable. The u joints are already gone on my driveshaft and i looked at the service record and it was replaced 20k ago. how often do people replace theirs?

Yikes! I've got 43k on mine with no problem. At least I don't think there is.

You'll know once your u-joints go. It will typically make a knocking or clanking noise when you hit the throttle abruptly. Usually happens when moving from a dead stop.

or vibrate like a bastard when down shifting due to binding.

You would have to chime in. I have been getting some vibration when I'm slowing down. Guess I'll have it looked at jus' in case.

the U-joint is binding slightly causing vibration when down shifting. mostly between specific rpms, mine was 4-3k rpms.

We looked into it but it wasn't feasible. The OEM unit being carbon fiber made an aluminum or steel shaft seem pointless. Plus the length of the shaft would require that it be made of a larger diameter than what we use in our Z32 shafts. Larger diameter = more weight and more chance of interference under the car.

OEM new or used is the only option I am aware of.
