Default 18G's.......How much boost?

Just wondering if anyone has any idea on how much boost the greddy TD05/18G's can make max.

But won't worry, you won't be able to crank it up half as high as that without some serious engine work!

That's certainly a statement that could raise a few eyebrows.

It would be more expensive, the reason i was asking was that if the 18G's didn't produce enough boost then i would have to figure out a way to replace the ones supplied with greddy kit and put slighty larger turbos.

18g turbos are good for 450hp each. so that means you would have to build a 900+rwhp monster. boost they are good for up to 35psi

I'd love to see an 18G at 35 psi....talk about off the efficiency chart (considering the 18G is not the most efficient compressor side to begin with).

16G's would have been a much better choice for the car IMHO....

the only bad thing about the 16g, is that each one is only good 300whp- 350whp, and being that he has engine work done to the engine the 18g will be alot better for the long run, no need to upgrade turbos when he has reach 700whp and wants more, it happens all the time people get small turbos for quick spool up but lose when more power is needed, as for the turbos greddy is using they are TD05H 18G flows better than TD05 18G. its your money spend it how you want to

its up to you, every turbo has is limits

with external wastegate the 18g should be ok, why so much boost, hope you build the hole bottom and head of the engine, APR bolts is a must for so much boost. but i will love to see 27psi on a Z that baby is going to fly.

Trust me man, i'm not leaving anything untouched. Actually i'm planning on making it fly for the longest time possible.

Looks like i'm gonna keep the turbos that come with the greddy kit wich is good news, i just hope it's out by the time my motor is done.

Actually i bought my car from austin and the car is in houston at the moment.

But in qatar we haven't got the Z's officially yet, we might next year and if we do then we would get the middle eastern spec car.

I have an 18g on my turbo civic right now. The turbos max efficiency is around 18psi. After that you are just blowing hotter air into the car. Hopefully you are using external wastegate(s). I would have to agree with adam on this one, you are going way off the efficiency charts if above 20psi. If you are building up yor engine, might as spend some more and get some better turbos if you are going to be pushing that much power. Garett GT Series or Presicion(sp?) turbos.
