Default Tranny cooler vs oil cooler

Is there a difference between the two? The radiators I mean. Any reason they can't be interchanced. I'm thinking of making an oil cooler this winter and haven't really been able to locate a cooler (oil) that I think suits my design..yet.

Dumb question, but don't we already have one of these in the left hand side of our grill (as you are looking at the front of the car)?? Which is it?

So NISMO is selling a PS oil cooler with one more loop for $1000? What are they thinking? I thought NISMO parts were supposed to get cheaper once NISMO USA opened? HAs that not happened?

As for the original question, maybe ask the guy who totaled his car in Puerto Rico for his PS oil cooler and use that for your engine oil cooler? At least you'd have some symmetry up front. Also, depending on how big you want it check out water cooled CPU radiators. It's most likely going to be cheaper to go an indirect route with the crazy prices people are charging. Just be sure it can handle the temperatures, ie, check the welding material

That's my whole point here..come up with a GOOD setup, probably piece it together from several different vendors, with quality components, I know it can be done for a very reasonable price, and trust me I'm VERY **** when it comes to things like this, especially when we're talking about an oil system mod. I'll be glad to share details when I get it done...gonna be a long winter here.

Maybe I'm mistaken, let me check...

I am! Sorry! I don't know where that price came from. Sorry.

A PS cooler isn't gonna do jack for you. It's only a 2 pass cooler with fins that are very spread apart. I'm going to be building an oil cooler for mine once I get a little time on my hands. An excellent setup can be built for under $400.

Ok, now I don't think I'm a complete moron... I knew that 1k price had to come from somewhere. Why the big difference in price of the PS cooler to Oil cooler?
