Wow..

This cannot be a real post, I would hope you do more research before buying a 6spd trans with a though of conversion. There is a reason why almost no one has done it.

You will need a lot of parts off the 6 speed. It can be done. Good luck!

This^^^ flywheel, clutch, clutch cable/master cylinder, bearings, ecu, is the driveshaft the same? Your pumpkin is of a different ratio than a stock 6MT. Even the trim pieces around the shifter are different.

different drive shaft I think is required... different ECU... yeah... lots of crap. I researched this myself but I don't think its worth the effort unless your a pretty serious mechanic and are willing to have no Z to drive for awhile...

But hey if you ever do decide to do it, and do it successfully... be sure to take lots of pics and write a how-to, and you'll be a god on the forum. lol

Why don't you just sell it to Alberto, he could always use a backup tranny.

Best way to install a 6 speed into an auto Z is.

go to www.cars.com list your car for sale, when its sold, take that money and put it towards a 350Z with a 6 speed.

Done!

You could get all the parts out of a junkyard and it probably wouldn't cost over 1500$ if you looked around for awhile. 99% of japanese cars already have the holes marked or drilled for the slave cylinder and clutch pedal mounting. BTW ecu out of a junkyard is about 150-400$... I don't know why people think it would be so hard lol.

If you have the tools and the know how to do it yourself its not that bad but for most people who want to do it, they want it done for them so that 1500 for parts turns into 2500-3000

Zs are getting lower and lower in price, making even less sense on spending 2500-3000 for something that can be bought stock.

Don't forget the new tranny, I built a turbo civic and it took 3 trannys to get one that didn't grind. I even bought a TH350 tranny for another project that I thankfully took apart before installing only to find out it was trashed. (TH350 came from pick and pull yard with warranty) I never did get back the lost time......

lots of factors play into it, easiest way is to sell the car, and buy one with a 6 speed. figure the car is worth 12-15K sell it and buy another one in the same price range, hopefully breaking even.

If the OP has the means to do it on his own and has a good place to get parts under warranty (have them checked out first!) then theres no reason not to.
However most people who post on here that want this swap can't find the spark plug wires in a 350z
