Default Fuel Psi Issue

I have had a Fuel Psi issue for some time now.I just replaced the stock pump with a walbro 255 today..the problem remains the same. Stock specs for fuel psi at idle are 51psi..my stock pump would vary 48-40psi depending on ambiant temperature/drove the car, shut it off and turned it back on again (40psi)/or let the car sit and idle for a few minutes(40psi)...With the new pump installed it idles at 60psi with no issues..but as soon as I give is a little gas the psi drops and close to redline it drops all the way down to 40psi just like the old pump..the injectors are working fine...the only other thing I can think of that would cause this is the factory fuel psi regulator..which means I would have to replace the whole assembly...

has this problem happened to anyone on here? if so what was the cause and correction.

thank you
