Default does octane booster really work?

i am not sure if this is the right place to post so feel free to move the thread. Just like the title says does octane booster really work? i know that octane is a additive that is put in at the manufacture so it seams likely that it does work but still. i was just wondering who on hear uses this stuff in their Z and what brand, also what experiences have you all had with using them.
Thanks
Rockhead

Interesting vid:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2jbcCr2ll3c&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2jbcCr2ll3c&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Cliffs: No, actually reduces HP and could reduce MPG

all those do is clean stuff it it doesnt actually increase the octane really....maybe by a point or so but those things are really just to clean the system. if i am filling my tank up all the way for a long trip (i.e. my drive to school...3 hours) I will throw a bottle in there...

They aren't even proven to clean anything really. There are no mandates about what they say vs actually do IIRC.

You want to clean things out, use seafoam.

yes, seafoam is awesome.

seafoam is basically pure petroleum, and a lot of those additives ( I used the shell one) are mostly pure petroleum, so its very similar.....

Octane booster isnt what most people think it is. Like it says 7 points read more detail, its more like .07, so if u put it in with 93+.07=93.7-94 octane.

octane boosters contain toulene which boosts octane, but they dont contain enough to really boost you octane enough to matter. you can pick up toulene cheap at a paint store and mix your own but its not great for your fuel pump and seals which is why they dont put alot in the booster.

I heard about this product a long time ago. I am going to do some more research and see what I decided on. Has anyone tried it on their Z?
