Default Modders, how sersiously do you take the SES light?

Just wondering because mine goes off every once in a while. I had it checked by a dealership the first few times and it was just sensors pulling errant readings due to my mods (supercharger, intercooler, exhaust). After that I probably have it go on once a month. Now I just unhook my battery for a few hours and reconnect it so the ses light goes away. Of course I always make sure the engine isn't overheating, no power loss, no oil pressure drop, check oil levels, etc etc....

What I'm wondering is if other people have the ses light go on this much and if they bother taking it in?

Get an OBDII Scanner and check whenever a code pops up, it'll tell you what it is, and if it IS in fact something minor caused by your mods, then just clear it, or deal with it.
It's a good ~$100 investment.

This^^^ I would recommend the Scangauge II, which is intended to be installed at all times in the car. It shows 4 fields of information at once, such as coolant temp, intake temps, timing, etc. and if you have a light come on it will read the code and clear it.

Glad I could help! I really enjoy having the scangauge in my car so that I can monitor exact values of vital information like coolant temps. If and when your check engine light does come on you will know what the code is right away instead of waiting until you get home and hook up a diagnostic scanner
