Has anyone had this done? I had mine replaced about 2 months ago, replaced for having a slight grind when shifting into 2nd and 5th gear, and had a few questions for anyone else who had this done. My car is an 06 with 26000 miles or so on it when the tranny was replaced. Does it seem a rougher shift after you guys had it replaced? It seems to me the tranny I had in the car before hand was a smoother shift into the lower gears, 1-3, while in lower rpm but now they seem rougher for some reason unless I'm in the 4000-4500 rpm range. It also seems like it's a sloppier? shift? Could a bad clutch have anything to do with it? Maybe re-installed wrong or a little off? Just trying to look into this more. Thanks for the help.
To the OP......Did they replace your clutch and flywheel too without you knowing?? (Nissan is supposed to do that as part of the warranty work on your first tranny replacement) If they did, that could explain your issues. Mine was like that too at first when they did my first replacement because the clutch was "breaking in". It went away in abotu a thousand miles.
I had two more tranny's replaced after that, but no new clutch the next two times, and everythind felt fine.

They didn't replace my clutch/flywheel, at least they didn't say they didn't. I'm assuming they didn't because they asked if I wanted to buy an aftermarket one and they would install it for me since the tranny would already be out. I went back up there and ran the situation by them and they said that the new synchros in that tranny were the problem, that they were a more aggressive set or something like that.

The newer tranny's (Having had two a CD008, and on my second CD009) are quieter and smoother then the older revision. Look at your invoice and see if there is a CD009 somewhere in the tranny part number. That would mean you have the newer revision. But that doesn't mean you can't still have a bad tranny. FYI my second tranny was notchy too, and with in a thousand miles started having the same grinding issues, and this was when i was bone stock!

The new one I have is a lot quieter than the old one by far. Almost 0 transmission noise inside the cabin. I'll run it by another dealer if I get closer to another Nissan dealer this weekend and see what they say about it.

I searched but couldnt find any links?
Try being a little less specific when you search. I've found that if i search for exactly what i'm looking for, i come up with nothing. Do a more general search, and take the time to sift through the results. Somewhere is the origional thread that has thousands of responses.
I have an 06 MT.
Feb 09 Warranty transmission replacement. Car had about 12k miles on it. It would grind shifting into 5th. I took the car in, told them what it was doing, they test drove it, confirmed the problem. Had to wait a week for the part to come in, new transmission installed. Overall it was easy to get the problem fixed.
Dec 09. 4400 miles on the replacement transmission... Grinding when downshifting from 6th to 5th unless you stopped in neutral and blipped the gas. Once again took it in, test drive, yep it is a problem and replaced. Once again, replaced without a hassle, argument, or debate.
Three transmissions in under 16k miles. While I may drive the car "hard" because I bought a sports car and I enjoy it. It hasn't been tracked. I don't rev it up and launch it. I get another failure and Nissan is going to find out they better have a plan to figure out why this car is eating transmissions or I am going to become a serious pain in the dealerships ***.
