Default Is my clutch bad?

Hello,

I just went to the mechanic because I thought the car was out of alignment.....turns out I just had to replace the tires. During this, my mechanic wanted to drive my car to replicate the problem and do a better diagnostic.......He seems to think the clutch is bad cause it grabs too quick and he was barely able to drive it. It doesn't slip in any gears or anything. I can drive it aright too, I just thought this was how the car was made, especially when reading all the posts from other people. Do you guys have any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any replies.

P.S. This is a 2006 350z

Sorry man, I have no idea what you just said. Can you please reiterate.

Edit: O, I guess you mean the clutch is not bad, but the mechanic is. lol Thanks

What he meant was "no, your clutch isn't bad, the mechanic is (bad)."

Odd that he can barely drive it, but you drive it just fine Suggest asking for a more detailed diagnosis on what he meant. Otherwise, doesn't sound like he can drive stick very well

The clutch in the Z is a odd if you aren't used to it. I could see where someone who's not used to it could think it's going bad. I've driven nothing but manuals my whole life, and i (along with many others on this forum) still found the Z to be awkward for the first couple weeks.

Let me guess, your mechanic can install a new clutch for a really good price?

Sounds to me like he is trying to hose you for more money.

Imo ask him if he'll install the clutch from a civic so then the 300hp car can "shift right".

I hope that "mechanic" isn't one of those guys that plays with hondas all day, and thinks they can fix anything.....

Thanks for the replies. My car has like 40000 miles on it. I can actually drive the car pretty well, but that's probably cause I'm used to it now. I figured he was just saying it more because his pride was hurt lol. I wanted to ask the gurus on this site just in case anyhow. Definitly put my mind at ease.
