well one of some things may have happened. Angled the thread pattern or The nismo cap is a "click" type of cap so that you do not over tighten.

the problem that arises with this is that internally the damn clicker busts if you try to force it and then it will either just spin or not catch properly to un tighten. my suggestion is that it is only a cap. If brute force does not budge it just break the top to unscrew it from the base and get a new one.

If you do not want to brake it then what you have to do is slip a nice flat head screw driver near the bottom and gently tap it at an angle with a hammer to make a little indentation into the plastic to catch it in order to budge it to spin off.

1st ways much easier and less frustrating.

Happens all the time on the jeep Cherokee. Same type of cap style.

Problem with the nismo oil cap is that it's a billet aluminum cap that heats up with the motor everytime you start it.

So heat + metal = expand, means it'll be tight as a **** when you go and do the oil change. The Nismo V1 oil cap also has very little surface area to get a good grip on which makes it a pita.

I'm thinking of switching to the V2 version for this same reason

The thing is its a hex head nut. Any idea what size? I have this cap, and I noticed it was hard as a **** to get off to. But I got it off by hand. If it would've been any tighter I probably wouldnt have. Next time I get it out I will check my dads 3/4" drive sockets. They go to almost 3". I dont think its any bigger than that.
