Default Oem vsc lsd diff problem

Alright heres the problem. My rear drivers wheel was hit one time and my axle was messed up where it inserts into the wheel hub. I replaced my axle and a couple arm controls. Got alignment done and so when i drift or try to fishtail into a corner, it just sometimes doesnt kick out. It seems to me that one wheel is spinning and the lsd is not engaging. What i dont understand is that it doesnt do it all the time and when it does, its usually the passenger side that doesnt want to kick out which wasnt touched. (so if im trying to make my car kick out while taking a left turn it just burns out but doesnt kick out)
has anyone experienced this problem before?

A dealer tech told me that it is possible that my differential fluid needs to be changed. He said normally you need to change it every 30k miles but if its ran hard, change it every 15k miles or so.
Im gonna try the fluid this weekend but i wanted to see if anyone had/has or experienced this problem before.
Anyone that knows something about this know what going on?

I dont need your advice, (people that dont know anything) but still comment.

Quick little insight, if you drive your VLSD hard, its probably already fried. It doesn't take much. Buy a real LSD and keep the fun and games on the track.

thanks for a normal reply. the thing is just that its been doing it since i replaced my axle only but i should check it out. maybe from the impact it messed something up inside.

no fluid leaks or noise. its wierd. im thinking if its fried than the differential will make noise or not work at all. but it does work. sometimes it just doesnt seem that the lsd is engaging.

vlsd engagement is inconsistent, they suck in general.

VLSD's sometimes don't lock well depending on the conditions... viscous coupling is essentially a chemical reaction, which takes time to occur. Despite what people say I think diff fluid changes does help. Mine started spinning one wheel when at auto-x events, after I changed the diff fluid it locked every time. I drive my car pretty hard and found I have to change the diff fluid about every 3-5K miles if i'm tracking and auto-xing the car. As the guys said above it is probably already ruined... but fluid changes do seem to help, at least for me.

A real LSD is worth the money though if you are actually going to drift events or do auto-x.

Did your vsc and slip lights ever come on when it wasn't locking up?

Out of curiosity, what kind of differential fluid did you use?

VLSD itself is sealed off and non serviceable. Just matter of time before it goes, and depend on how hard you use it.
