Welded vs tomei 2way
I know this was prob discussed somewhere. But I would like to hear peoples opinions on this perticular question, please don't tell me what your boys opinion is or what you heard cause quite frankly there to Many fan boys on here stating illiginmate opinions my question is: I have a welded open diff I feel like it's to violent for daily driving. I also have a 2way uninstalled if I install the 2way will it be more streetable.... I know it gonna lock up on low speed turn like the welded does but is it as uncomfortable as the welded on is
this car must be daily driver but I would still like to hit some local events when I can please give me honest opinion only if u have experince with both welded and 2ways thanks in advance

Hey Sir, I'm on a welded diff also so can understand your suffering lol. I haven't used the Tomei but Josh from Nevrslo Motors uses it. I'll PM him and ask him to update this thread with his experience.
My experience with a Welded Differential on a 240sx and a KaaZ 2way LSD. is pretty much the same. Honestly if you are going to drift the car just suck it up and run the welded. However if you are going to use the car, for Cayon Racing, Autocross, Road racing etc etc. I would honestly get a 1.5way LSD.
a Welded LSD is always Locked, a 2 way is locked under acceleration and Deceleration, only real difference being that the 2way unlocks for a split second going from the acceleration to deceleration position of clutch packs.
streetability will suck with both.
my $.02

welded is pretty harsh for daily and my buddy's welded diff blew a whole and locked up while on the freeway, that is pretty scary. if i were you id just save up money for a carbonetics. from experience i can tell you they are bad ***, they do the job and dont make a single noise or play it safe and use a pop that 2 way in there

I agree with you 100% on the Carbonetics though.

this is an R200 Differential from a J30 into a 240sx y popular part. it will be the same exact Procedure just of couse with the 350Z parts. which I'll let you get part numbers for because I'm wayyy too lazy to do more searching as of right now.
enjoy, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
