Default Synthetic Oil to Regular Oil?

I have been using synthetic since 40,000 miles on my 2003 350Z. Today I got it changed at 65,800 at a Nissan dealership for the first time. I usually got mine done at Pepboys.

Didn't think twice about it, but since I didn't ask for synthetic they gave me a regular oil change. I wondered why it was so cheap.

The guy says it shouldn't affect my car too much, but I am very paranoid and can already see a performance difference. He says next time I'm due for an oil change, I should ask.

So besides performance difference, will it damage my car in the long run if I use regular oil instead of synthetic for just this once.

Thanks

You are way over thinking this. As long as the correct weight was used you will be fine. Just switch back after 3k miles. If you are that worried about it go to an autoparts store, pick up 5 qts of mobil 1, and spend 15 minutes in the driveway curing your paranoia.

Do a search on here about different oils. There are a ton.

That "performance difference" is all in your head.
