Yeah, nothing but headers with no tune. Sounded ridiculous. Quick too, for not even going past half throttle...

Things have been somewhat slow lately due to hecticness and indecisiveness with the driver side header. It's done now though and the engine is in the car, bolted down for good. Big big update coming your way later this week.

i don't know if you mentioned this but how much did you spend for this set up not including headers and tuning? Price difference between LS1 swap and VH swap?

LS1/2 swap still has more upside in the HP to $ area. The reason is the aftermarket support is light years ahead of the vh45de. An LS1/2 swap is going to cost between 12 - 20k depending on if you do your own work. Plus there are more off the shelf swap kits out there for the LS motor vs. None for the VH.

Hmm looks to me so far that he doesnt have a worry about aftermarket support........

Also, btw, he states why he goes with the VH!

Another quote:

"st off, no more VQ35 . The aftermarket bolt-on market just isn't there for VH45's, so some aftermarket things are somewhat difficult to find I've been told, but that's not really a big deal for me, I'm probably going to supercharge or turbo it in the end if I decide I want more than 350-400 whp (Which should be very easy to get)."

He also states that he is being able to do the swap for what it take to put in another VQ engine....... I dont think it cost as much as a LS swap then isnt it.....

Wow... someone got a bit upset. So he states we can swap it in for the same price as a VQ. Built? Stock used? Stock new? Installed himself? Installed by a shop?

Regardless... OP nice job and I hope you are happy with it.

I mean you are talking through third person. Just because you talk to the OP doesn't mean you get an update on every bill he gets related to the swap. Plus, how do you even know what the OP considers an expense? Does he include every fitting and piece of hardware or just the essentials? Does he include any additional upgrades he has to make? You are talking as an observer and not a doer...

I really don't give a crap if you talk to the OP or not. Actually there is a HUGE aftermarket for the LS motor in general. You would know this if you were in the market for a V8 swap, and looked at the cost benefit ratio of such a swap. The LS motor get's swapped in cars from the 30's on up to todays models....again you would know this if you were in the market for a V8.

With respect to nissan V8 swaps the 240sx guys have a LARGE following of V8 swaps. So LARGE that the price to swap in a V8 is about HALF of what it would cost to put in a 350z. Ton's of support as there are many companies producing swap kits.

As for the VH45DE swaps can you name any company that has put out a swap kit? Can you point me to a website that SPECIFICALLY supports the VH45DE swap into a 350z? I don't think you can.....

Finally with respect to the 350z LS swap this mod is becoming more common as Z prices decrease. Also with the LS1/2/3/6/7/9 motors you have a much better starting point for modifications than the VQ. Hence my first post of HP to $ ratio. Please go nut hug somewhere else...

O, wow you talk about so much aftermarket support, like what then honestly because only thing i can pop into mind is engine internals and couple different versions of the engine. Because if you go back to noa were was his aftermarket support for him?? Were does support all begin hmm?? Your still doing custom headers, exhaust and working out a intake, mounting points, clearance, reinforcing beams to make sure it can Handel the weight(in this case LS is a tad lighter from what i heard). Just because you have a starter kit doesn't mean aftermarket support is all there yet because i dont see them making headers to go a long with it. Either way Op stated he is doing it at a price if he were to replace the engine. He doesnt care to much about the after market support because he is primary going to be using it for drifting.

Frankly panda man i dont know y after all your reading of this thread your still putting up things about LS this and LS this, this thread primarily his build not a LS Priced build. And that the reason why i said anything. Also i was saying it in this context "Ok Dum ***, as in ok i guess im going to have to lay it out. No were i was stating more than that i was upset, unlike you i know how to control my anger and dont need to act like a E-Thug.
