Question 230kw 350z how strong?

How strong is the 230kw motor vs the 206kw motor? Hard driving, trackday...! Both in standard form. Motorwise?

The 206kw motor makes less power than the 230kw motor, but the 230kw motor is stronger.

I think he's referring to the HR vs. DE in regards to the metric system of power? Just a guess...

ummm I'd say about the same... I havent really heard of reliability issues on either. If you plan on doing bolt ons... the DE isnt that bad of an option. If you choose to keep it stock.. the HR is considerably better.

OK. I have a 2004 std 350Z and a 2006 non rev up with a S/C and some goodies pushing out 282rwkw and 450nm. I want to buy a new spec 350Z with the HR motor and keep it stock for trackday's only. So my question is to find out which one is going to (motor) take the abuse better, standard DE or standard HR? 1kw= 1.34hp for those of you that don't know.

The HR has beefier rods & higher spec rod bolts.
Also the oil pump while not pumping any more oil or a higher pressure has the vane material made from a better grade of steel. There were some reported oil pump internal problems with the DE pump at high RPM's (way above the rev limit)
So to answer your question, if the motor is to be run stock both motors can take abuse if kept at the redline but due to the higher red line on the HR there is more margin for driver error in the cut & thrust conditions of a trackday.
