ok, long story short. was getting my differential fluid changed this morning. we drained it, then realized that the box that was supposed to contain my severe gear amsoil....contained filters instead.
so i needed to put something else in the differential and was crushed for time. the only thing the local store had was Castrol Syntec Gear Oil. it is GL-5 so we're good there, and it was 75W-90, but is there reason for concern at all with this fluid? i was running Motul 90PA, but was going to switch to Amsoil.
I know Castrol isn't a "true synthetic" like the Motul was, but will it suffice?
I hate to drain the fresh oil and re-pay for another differetial fluid change when I just forked out for this one.
thoughts?

Should be just fine. Now different LSD's like different fluid, but if you only have a VLSD it doesn't matter.
