Default ? is there problem with ger ratio and rear gears

I had a new 300zx twin turbo that ran 0-60 in 5.0 and weighed 150lbs more . There is on 13 horse difference and little torque so why is this car slower off the line than the old model?? Is it the tranny or the rear end ratio that is holding back all this power?
Any thoughts out there? road and track had these tuner cars with 375 lbs and the best they could get is 5.1 for about 10 grand
seems there is a problem with this fix. Someone is missing something

I don't think the old TT z was any quicker. As a matter of fact I remember them running mid 14's at the drag strip stock.

0-60 time is a point less number. Manufactures use 0-60 times to help 'sell' more products to less informed public. 1/4 times and 0-top end time is the more important number to think about. Also look at how many g's the car can pull
