Default Raising idle rpm's with Consult II

I have heard differing opinions about consult II idle rpm adjusting. Some say it is a temporary setting that reverts back to stock after a certain amount of time.....some say it is a new permanent parameter in the ECU. What is the scoop???

It is a new permanent parameter in the ECU. I can see it when working on the car. It also will not lose it's memory if the battery is disconnected.

I did see a post on this board by a z owner who took his car in to a dealer to have this done and the tech said it was a diagnostic tool only and not a programming tool. Maybe he was blowing smoke.

He didn't know what he was talking about!!!! There are several things you can change, including idle and timing.

Not heard of the consult II idle rpm adjuster. Why not just take the car to a dealer service and get them to either increase or decrease the idle timing; Which is what I did after installing the pro charger, as the idel timing become very rough with the forced induction and I asked that my idel timing to be increased slightly?

Consult II is the standard diag tool to work on nissan products. You can reflash target idle and timing, lots of other bi-directional capabilities. You can buy one, just a paltry 4grand.. but gotta have one if you do a lot of Nissan stuff.

you can adjust idle but only retard riming. If you advance the timing it will revert back.

You can advance it. It will only revert back if you try to advance it more than its range.
