Don't worry, there are plenty who are older than you, although most of the current members are probably in their 20s and also 30s.

I have a question about the headers, specifically the ones with 1-7/8" primaries. What sort of outlet flange do they have or does the user have to weld one on? What size is the outlet, I would assume 3"? Also how many O2 sensors are on them? Can I fit the OEM and a wideband or will I have to install the second bung myself?

These would all be good things to have on your website....just my $0.02

It is 3", there is 1 02 bung per header, and also the collector end is plain. You can do a slip fit, or weld on vband/various other exhaust flanges. I believe they do it to keep it cost efficient and let us customize it ourselves.

very nice! i gotta search up for a good cam... i cant wait for the fast 102.. and tb... how are you controlling the TB? electronic or cable?

so far on my list I got

Sikky headers ( 7/8 )
custom 3" exhaust
L92 heads ported and polished
cam (undecided)
springs
ARP headstuds
FAST 102 w/ TB
Injectors
walbro
fuel rails.

+ TUNE

Shooting for 500+ NA... The beauty about the LS motors is that the parts are cheap!!!.. you can get killer heads for 1000-1200 and they breathe like hell!

I can't wait. Hopefully it'll be Street friendly at 500+whp NA.

That's interesting they would sell a coated header that needs welding done on it. Kind of defeats the point.

How much do you think you'll end up spending on this complete swap including engine and tranny?

Vas_Z33,,

Nice we are doing about the same thing, in engine mods.. I am controlling the TB via Cable.. with a GTO pedal assembly. I am going to do a lot of drifting in this so I also got a KRC drift Power Steering pump, looks so good..

well it all depends.. I would say 10K+... but I got a good deal on my motor and t56... with only 25k miles.. and im using my FI currently in the Z as well as the motor and 009 transmission to fund my project.. so in my case its different.

I have about everything needed to do this swap except the Sikky kit(~$4K), which I'll be ordering next week or the week after and I'm also getting HP Tuners VCM Pro Suite ($650) to tune it and I'm at just under $11K with L92 #823 heads & L92/LS3 intake manifold, as well as a brand new T56 Magnum(2.66 gear set).

All said and done I'll have about $16k invested and I'm going to rebuild the L92 heads and mill them about 0.015" which will run about another $1500-2000. But I should put down 450-480whp @ 6500-7000 rpms, according to the cam I've selected with the help of Comp Cams (LSR 293LR HR14).

definitely get the L92 heads ported! they bond very well with the ls2.. I did find this other site where they sell completely brand new racing heads ( 8000rpm ) for about 1700... Ill see if i can find the link.. I may end up going that route if there worth it

Is that $1700 fully assembled or just the bare heads? I picked up my L92 fully assembled for $550 shipped but they won't support the lift and rpms I'm looking for so I need to re-do them with lightweight roller goodness.

http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...egory_Code=C40

alone there 1000... but figure with everything around 1800.. they assemble it in house and sent you the heads to bolt in.

but then again, if you shop around you can get some good l92s ported for cheap as hell

Ah those are LS2 #243 heads! I've seen some comparisons with those. They do put down some impressive numbers.

Guys keep in mind if you run the e40 ecu (ls2 drive by wire), it won't let you run anything larger than a 60lb injector. You have to change other maps to run larger ones. Snyper ran into that with his ls2 turbo and found a way around it

LS2, '05 vett, 25K miles. I'm keeping it DBW for now. I want to get it running before I get too wild.
