2jz swap for me if i ever do swap.. they're cheaper and sound better. Swap kit is the same price.
LMAO.
Cheaper if you buy the crappy NA version maybe. Considering I have done not only my own LS swap, but a 2JZ swap into another car, I can say you don't know what your talking about.
Yup. 2JZ shortblock alone is like $2000... you can get a whole LS1 longblock for cheaper than that. I don't know the going prices for LS2s as I haven't been tracking it, but LS2/T56 combo is noticeably cheaper than 2JZ-GTE/V160 combo.

Again, why would you waste the time putting a motor in that makes less power and weighs more than the stock VQ. While the LS also weighs more, it more than makes up for it in the power band and the lowered center of gravity.
Also, I am quite sure the good Getrag six speed is still quite expensive.
2jz's are great motors, however why swap for a heavier motor with less displacement? in makes no sense in any category. they sound nice, yes. they make power, but so does the vq. they've also been around for 18 years so theyve better have learned to make power lol. imho, if you swap a motor, it better be a better all around motor.

vq purists can argue, but imho lsx > vq any day
I agree with your statement bbs350z!! I can't wait for the LS swap to become a more main stream alternative to making power vs. FI.
That's awesome Vas!! You're going to loooove the LS motor!! You going to do a LS2/T56 combo? There are lots of cam choices to net plenty of power!! And the big thing is you only have to buy ONE!!!

Yes sir.. I was thinking putting some L92 heads and a FAST intake manifold before the swap.. get some decent cams at a good price and tune it.. with the sikky headers.. Im seeing a lot of people with that combo doing 470-510whp! NA.. thats killer!

And to think you don't have to worry about turbos or superchargers and all the headaches that may come along with them!! Just N/A power all day!!
Some people in the LS1tech.. are putting out over 400-490fttq... THAT must be a kick in the pants.. instant power.. this should be a good experience.
Yeah I'm over there as well. I've been reading a lot about what I'm going to do to my LS2. Before I plunk all my money down I have to make sure I can register my car in VA. I'm 95% positive that I can register the car as long as I use a motor that is the same year or newer than my car. Plus I have to keep all the emissions components on it as well. I have a little bit more research to conduct, but I think I will be fine in VA.
Great to hear Vas! If you need any questions answered, feel free to PM me!
Im excited, hopefully I can start ordering some sikky parts in the next week or so.. I got a very good deal from them on the whole set... the swap kit, ecu wiring, power steering, master cylinder, and the 1 7/8 headers. so it should be good to drop in.
Ive been eying this 06 Ls2 GTO motor with 25K miles so we'll see..
