What is your final goal with the project and what is it's intended use?

i was just wanting more power .. hammer through the gears kinda fun..
i have had v8s in the 400-500 hp range. and miss it..
so adding a ls2 would be nice.. im not gonna be drifting .. but i want fast off the line.bang through the gears.
if i do any mods.. will be cam and head work.. thats about it.. i must say i'm new to gm motors and only built fords.. so im very new and on ls1 tec reading as much as i can.

any info on transmission selection would be great.. wish they had pictures of removing the engines from a gto.. also i have to remove the engine myself.. in that 5 k price..

double that to get it installed, triple it to make it more than the stock 300hp and probably quadruple that if you want it tuned properly with all the correct supporting mods.

FWIW the ls2 is 400HP but yeah, it's not cheap.

well my vq is about dead.. and im not gonna replace or rebuild a engine im not happy with .. 5 grand is what i would pay for a gto ls2 complete engine wire trany (me taking it out of the car ) 36,000 km on the engine.
was just wondering if that's a good price.

i am well aware that the full install with sikky kit will be costing about 10 g total or less since i will be doing the work

I think the price is fine, there are cheaper and there are more expensive. If your budget is really tight you may want to shop around and really put together a parts list and budget. If you're cool with $10k +/- $3 (more likely plus) then go for it.

Anyone have the pin out for the main gauge cluster? I just finished my speed hut tach install and would like to do all my wiring at the harness behind the cluster. I need 12v, parking light/head light, and ground.

I found the pin out.

For future reference, the harness M19 is what connects to the back of the main cluster.

contact me for some wiring goodness. my buddy owns a wiring company and is finishing up mine and vasz33's harness's and are fully tucked with a nice price as well. also check out the official ls swap thread for info pertaining to the swap and little details that not only make the swap easier, but also precautions.

bbs350z, I'm sure I'll need info on that contact for the wiring soon. Still in the "gathering" phase but moving forward nicely.
Cheers!

SIKKY should be solid, but make sure to do a full inventory of parts when the kit get to you. It may be harder than you think since they don't label anything or include pics of what the items are

Good luck with Chase Bays, I called them twice and left messages and never heard anything back. Their website leads you to believe that that are top notch... just beware.

Sikky is a good company but they need to stick to only parts and STAY away from wiring harnesses.. Ive spent over 1200$ and my harness was as ****ed as it could possibly be.. wouldn't even sent a pulse. Had to rip it apart and pay another 500$ to get it done properly. Either that or they need to hire a new guy.. cause DAMN.

Thanks for the info Vas. As I get closer to that point I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of wiring questions.
We're definitely going with the LQ9.

I have been talking to BH factory and they are about to start doing the wiring harnesses for SIKKY themselves and they have a guy there that is really good.
