Z33Art V3.0-LS1/TH400 Swap
#244
Couple updates. Just finished making a custom crank lock to help hold the crank in place while torquing the rods and measuring bearing clearances. Also got my Circle D. torque converter with billet back plate and anti-ballooning plates rated at 700whp and nitrous! Also a better picture of the pistons.
If anyone is interested in the crank lock, I made three more of them and would sell them for cheap to help out anyone building their LS motor for their swap!

Hand ported oil pump for higher flow. Also has a .050" shim in it to increase oil pressure a couple psi.
Windage tray and pickup tube installed. The stroker crank did require the use of washers on the windage tray to clear the rod bolts.
GM MLS head gasket and lifters/lifter trays installed.
Oil pan installed and ready to go!
Almost there!
I do have pictures of installing the cam that I will post later. Cam installation went well. I also degreed the cam to verify that it was set correctly and that the manufacture sent me the cam with the specs that I wanted. All that is left is installation of the final damper bolt (already did the 240ftlb's with the old bolt) and installing the push rods and rockers. Then there is just some small things here and there to pull it all together to be put in!

So I was measuring my pushrod length on yesterday and discovered that a number of my hydraulic lifters went bad. With that in mind I had to remove the heads and install brand new lifters. All went well and it just so happens that the lifters I purchased from Texas Speed were the exact correct length that I needed!
From there I busted a$$ and got everything put together and the motor/transmission/torque conveter/driveshaft put back in the car! Hoping to start the car this upcoming weekend!

Gauges are finally mounted and operational... although the oil pressure gauge is loose and twisted right now... ;-)
It is hard to tell, but I made an ultra slim billet tachometer mount to mount the tach to the steering column. In the pictures it somewhat looks like the tach is mounted to the dash, but I assure you it is not. Everything is turning out to be quite clean!
