About 75% done stripping the sound deadener out of the interior. I have a couple spots on the tunnel and behind the dash to finish and then it is all out. Still working on removing all the glue though. Speaker enclosure should be cut out by next week and all all the glue removed. Then it is on to touching everything up with the sander.

For now I am making a "mid-brace" to help maintain the strength of middle of the car once I cut the speaker enclosure out. I made the brackets yesterday and am picking up the tubing in the morning. Hope to have the mid brace done tomorrow. Also picking up the material for my solid differential and subframe bushings in the morning.

i was just thinking at least put the dash bar in since the dash is already apart. You can always tie it in later. disassembling that looks like a PITA to do more than once.

I really want to put a cage in but I think I am going to wait until after I go to the track a couple times. I want to see what starts to break so I know how much money I need to keep investing to go faster. At that point I will truely determine what specs I want to build my cage to.

I am quite sure there may be a four link and a Ford 9" going in after next season. Either way, I should be able to run low 10's before I hit 135mph.

Here is my temporary mid-brace for when I cut out the speaker enclosure. Eventually a cage will be in once I have a better understanding of how deep I want to go racing. Flanges are waterjet cut 1/4" plate and the tube is .083 wall 1.5" diameter tubing.

Do it!! I would like to see a built TT guy switch over to the dark side as well. Maybe you could be one of the firsts to put a roots blower on the LS1/2 in the Z!!! That would be epic!! There is enough room to fit one!! Ask Quamen!!

There is definetly enough room for a big blower. Need to dowel pin the crank though since the crank pulley is just a press fit and isn't keyed.

is it typical to run a 10.5 slick on a 8" rim or a 10". Jegs sells both in the appropriate backspace, but only the 8" in the design I prefer.

It's pretty common. A 275mm (10.8") on an 8" is very common actually.

+1 The slicks' widths that are advertised is not the tread width that actually touches the ground, so "oversizing" is common practice. I believe the widths that are advertised are the width of the tires at their widest (at the bulge).

Personally, 10.5" wide slicks are where I'd draw the line with 8" wide wheels, though.

10 is acceptable depending on the brand. I will be running M&H Racemaster slicks. Going with 26x10x15.
