i roast them in second gear until i have a cloud that covers the pits. They get hot enough to pop and crackle.

quamen, are you running dss pro axles? 1.4 is one hell of a hard launch.

Stocker axles all the way! I can preload my drivetrain all the way up to the brakes with my setup which I'm guessing helps quite a bit. My launches feel very smooth even though it goes like a bat out of hell.

Watch out pal. I'm back in the game. =P Just ordered my LS7 block. Going somewhere between a 428-441ci stroker with a set of really nice LS7 ported heads. Hoping to make 600whp on motor before nitrous. Too bad I'm staying 6 speed though.

Lol, I wouldn't forget about you! That manual is what's gonna kill you, although I think your current switch to NA is 100% a step in the right direction! You're just gonna have to get that 4l80E we talked about last year

I look forward to the results both our cars put out since there are some very key differences in our setups. I am aiming for high 9's in spring...

Yeah I know it is but the car is 99.9999899% street driven..and on the highway the 6 speed helps lol. And I completely agree that going back to NA is what I need. It's funny how a lot of people tell me I'm making the wrong choice when they themselves have never owned a very high hp turbo v8 before lol. I'm not taking a step back..I'm taking a step forward to a more enjoyable (probably faster) street car.

I know. I'm just taking a jab at you.

I think the best choice I ever made was going bigger cubes N/A. Less of a hassle and if a 600whp VQ is a pain to drive on the street for some, a LS will be even worse. Especially if you arent running expensive tires. Most don't understand that. Either way I think that those that do built N/A swaps will be the happiest if their cars are still street driven.

thats why i am ready to dump my 6speed for an 4le80 with a brake. the clutch needed to hold the power is a PITA to street. Plus my Proefi will control all of it

Do it! Although that trans is more expensive than a Th400 I would have went with one if my standalone could control it. I can tell you that if it weren't for my torque converter having a decent stall rpm it would be a ***** to drive on the street.

Well I had a somewhat disappointing night as I was unable to run any faster than 11.2 and my misfire problem above 5K was still there. It's time to put the car away for the winter and send the electronics out to get tested. If they get back in time this fall I may still take it to the dyno again to tune more.

Hope to get an intake and throttle body over winter along with a 150hp shot of nitrous so I can come out strong in spring! I still had fun at the track tonight and ran a mid 11.2 and mid 11.3. Unfortunately it was packed for some reason though and I was limited on the number of runs I could get.

As you can see...6speed sucks. If I had an auto, that would of been a very low 10 second pass (it would of been better if I didn't spin off the line and had to let off)
