Btw, you don't get any benefit running thicker oil unless your motor needs thicker oil than factory.

about the Full/low, that's just me. Some people likes to fill it up to full, which not necessary long as your motor oil is in that range. I don't want to push my car untill redline with that much oil. Like i said, "full" mark is still ok.

If you really like to learn about oil etc, check this forum. Ton of info out there.

They are all the same weight but Castrol 0w30 is very thick in 30 category. I wanted 5w40 but i couldn't find decent brand with 5w40. High thickness in 30 category or 40 is not really "thick" to cause any problem, IIRC. I will take the car to drift time to time and i sometimes drive hard in the street. So high 30 or 40 would be good for my driving. i do feel some restriction in the engine with castrol 0w30 comparing to lower thickness of 5w30 but i feel like my engine is protected against shearing over time.

I will get UOA test done when i change the oil but most likely i'll change the oil to 5w30 JUST to see if the ticking sound goes away.

If you want thicker oil, go with Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic in 5w40. I heard so many good things that I'm going with it on my next change. I'm probably going to do a UOA on it as well.

I heard good thing about it too, but you know..it's SHELL lol. Some people say that Rotella 5w40 is not true synthetic. It sucks that my local dealers don't carry rotella 5w40 lol
