Quick update:

Been busy with work and have not been doing a lot of work on the car ... But I have been educating myself on aerodynamics and have finally decided on a layout of the underside of the car ... the pictures below are of the rods which will be used to hold the underside and diffuser.

I will keep you guys updated.

Fun project for sure! I have a similar one that I am working on as well. Mine is set up for drifting though. I went with the ls2 as well with dry sump but super charging mine. I cant wait to see this finished though. When are you hoping to have it done? Im looking to get mine finished by jan / feb at the latest. Let me know what you think..

If you look close you will notice that the fins are not only on the cover but also on the diff case itself

Thanks! Yours is very nice as well. I think you are on one step above me on the build. Excited to see it finished. I am thinking of just doing the Sikky alum. drive line. I had a couple drive line shops that I have worked with but cant find any who can make me a carbon fiber / kevlar drive shaft which is what I wanted. If you have any help with that Id love to hear about it!

Good Luck!

Why the preference for the carbon over the aluminum? I understand it will be lighter but not by enough to make a huge difference since the weight it close to the center of rotation.

My aluminum driveshaft from the Driveshaft Shop was a couple pounds lighter than the stock carbon shaft.

We can supply you with a carbon version of our drive shaft if you would like. They are kinda pricey though.

Updates:

- Been working on the under panels and diffuser. And I must say that It's taken quite sometime, but I'm sure the outcome will be good. We started working with a 1mm aluminum sheets been then we decided on 2mm to stop any possibility of flex in the sheets. Please note that the diffuser is at 14deg slant, which would give the best results

- The fuel filler opening has been cut by mistake lower than it should be ... measure twice, cut once .... At any rate, I think I will have solution for it. I will update you on this.

- We finished routing the radiator hoses. The SS lines that you guys see in the picture on top of the engine are the steam outlets in the front and rear of the engine. Normally one would only use the front ones, but since my engine has a lower tilt than usual I decided to use all four ports.

- The line that you see going into the valve covers are for the oil spray, which directly spray the rocker, springs... This will help in keeping the engine lubricated and cool.

Some update of the splitter, under panel, and diffuser ... In the pics its the mock-up (1mm sheets) but the final panel will be in 2mm sheets and will be machine cut using some super-duper process. I have no idea how its cut, but I have a friend whom offered to do it for me ... Its good to have such friends.

More than likely waterjet cut. I just purchased a waterjet at work and they are awesome for things like this. You could cut that panel in a couple of minutes with ease.

Everything is looking good!
