Default GT4 350Z Chassis with an LS2

Hello all,

I have been working on my project since 2005 ... had a number of stops and other issues .. but at any rate, I wanted to build an FIA GT4 350z race car with a VQ35DE engine, but after receiving my VQ35DE engine and spending a lot of $$$$, I wanted to get a dry sump system, and that was more $$$$ and that was it, I could not justify paying more $$$ for something that I know other engines platform were paying much less for .... So I sold that engine and decided to go with an LS engine and never looked back.

The below pictures were taken earlier this year during the roll cage install which was designed by RJN Motorsport in the UK and is FIA GT4 approved roll cage

Some more pics and specs

The car will have a MoTeC M880 Stand alone ECU with an SDL dash hooked to a GPS. Endless brake system, plus some other goodies :-)

These pictures were taken around July this year when the car came back from the roll cage install.

In these pics:

1) First we cut the floor and firewall, to make room for the Tilton pedals
2) Also we installed the Woodward steering parts including steering column
3) we also welded all of holes and openings that the chassis had
4) painted the car from the inside and the engine bay

Some pics of the fuel cell bladder, I'm just waiting on the FPR and filter and the Tilton pedals, and as you can notice, the setup is a DBW using the Nissan accelerator.

Here is the engine and the T56 Magnum getting ready to go in ...

In the other picture you will notice the ATL shoe box in the back of the car ..

After the installation of the engine we noticed that its a bit higher than what we would want and was at sitting on 12 deg tilt, so we made a new engine mounts and trans mount so now the engine is at 4 deg tilt and much lower.

Not to mention that in order to lower the engine we had to convert the steering rack to manual from power which also allowed us to take out the power steering.

In this set of pics you can see the how low the engine is ... other than that you will you see that we mounted the radiator in a "V" configuration which lowers the CG and also move the weight closer to the front axle ... the next step is to install the oil coolers and air guide

thats some awesome work, so with the engine change what kind of racing will you be doing now? I would imagine a 350Z with an LS2 kind of removes you from the official FIA GT races?

You are absolutely right ... But the car will be used for local events and we have one event coming up that will make this project worthwhile.
