Default Unorthodox Pulley kit next logical NA upgrade?

Looking for more NA gains, I've seen many people with this kit on here.

I haven't had the chance to get under the car to see if headers have been done yet, as the previous owner wasn't sure on absolutely everything that had been done to it.

To anyone running the Unorthodox Pullies, was the upgrade worth the money? Any feedback on them would be greatly appreciated.

I have K&N Air Charger, Stillen dual exhaust, Stillen High Performance clutch kit with lightweight aluminum flywheel, & a Stillen Short Throw Shifter.

The pulley kit was one of the first available mods for the 350Z. With limited engineering, it could be quickly put on the market. Today there are better choices.

Sounds like a waist of cash for no noticeable gains. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

I'll look into the header and upgrade it if it hasn't been changed out already. Maybe Stillen hi-flow cats too after I'm done upgrading to Stoptech brakes.

^ Don't bother with headers, either. And watch out for aids.

I don't know, I've been told numerous times by other members after they installed these they could "definitely feel the power", lol give me a break

OP, they're a waste of money

I had an underdrive crank pulley on my old car and it felt pretty good after the install. But it was a non-turbo eclipse (1999 model). You could probably feel an added 2 HP as weak as that car was.

Underdrive pulleys are also said to slow down the water pump, alternator, and a/c. I had issues with battery charging and the A/C on that car after going to the UDP.

I do plan on getting a pulley myself but I am going to go with one of the stock-sized lightweight pulleys. After my previous experience, I don't want to underdrive anything again.

all it does it gives a little bit quicker response due to the small amount of weight loss and sized diff.

Better off going with gears or test pipes.

And even then, gears only give you a performance gain if you're starting a race somewhere in 1st gear.

Honestly, the headers are not a bad idea if you can afford the installation.

why hasn't anyone mentioned the MREV kit w/ spacer? if you're N/A, it's by far the greatest power gains for the buck.

^Those two items, ART pipes, and a dyno tune will yield decent gains. I went from 3.5 to 3.7 gears and liked the differece.

UR underdrive pulleys and headers aren't worth it.
