Default Nismo Clutch / plate impressions?

I've read conflicting views on the Nismo clutch and plate upgrade - some say it feels lighter; others say it is heavier. Some say it's smoother, others say it is rougher. I've also read that it increases shifting effort...
What has been your experience (in comparison to stock)?
Thanks guys!

I don't have the Nismo Clutch or Pressure plate but I have the Light weight Fly wheeel and the response is noticeable especially down shifting at high speeds.....

It is lighter to the foot but clamps harder,

it can be rougher because it has a higher clamping force and can be more jerky if the driver doesnt shift smoothly...

Blueblur, I think you have just about everything NISMO!

Nice work!

Clutch pedal is slightly heavier and yes, it requires more modulation to be smooth. But it is still easy and very streetable. Let me repeat, the clutch pedal is heavier (a little).

Default Price?

What do the parts cost for the Nismo flywheel and clutch, and how many hours labor would you estimate for a competent Z mechanic to install them?

Default To Mr. Potato Head:

I see you have the JWT flywheel. I do too. Does it work well with the Nismo clutch? Of all my mods, the flywheel is the one that negatively affects driveability the most (cams are a distant second).

Tilton makes an 8 lb. flywheel. I bet that's a blast to drive. LOL

you just need to know how to rev match better, its more the clutch that effects drivablity, the flywheel makes the engine rev faster so if you dont match rpms your going to have a jerky ride. with any flywheel, stock or not, but you notice it more with a lighter flywheel.

if you want to expierence the Tilton flywheel you are more then welcome to come by

Default Tilton flywheel

Jason -

Jeff told me he took the Tilton flywheel out of the Performance Z. Did you put it in your car, or did you buy another one? What is price of Tilton flywheel, and how much for installation?

I will take you up on the offer to try it out in your car. Sometime soon. Thanks.

Jeff took it out of his car.

He loved the flywheel but hated the "toggle" clutch.

I am testing the new pressure plate in my car, so hopefully it will fix the toggle clutch problem. If so, we will be offereing the street clutch package for sale,

If not, we will be having some sprung disk's made.

Install will be the same as the Nismo FLywheel / Clutch installs'

When you come by we will talk about what we can do for you on install cost.

I have a UK 2004 model Z, and decided to upgrade to Nismo after my second clutch wore out (It felt VERY heavy from the start).

The Nismo clutch (ordered from Jason@performance Nissan ) was much lighter to depress than my previous clutch. It is much 'grabbier' and the biting point is much closer to the floor. I find the gear changes smoother too.

Is this mean the Friction point is lesser?
