Almost bought one myself until that review. On my way to work in the morning the on-ramp that I take is almost always packed and its a down hill slope and people like to ride your butt thinking that those few inches they leave between their car and mine will get them to work earlier

what do you mean by "side-stepping" the clutch?
Also, is there a difference between how far you need to push the clutch to engage v. how far to release to let go? can these be adjusted independently?

the throw distance of the clutch can be adjusted on the clutch pedals...
side stepping is pushing down the clutch pedal, shifting gear, and then moving your foot to the side letting your clutch pedal flick back up at you...
tilton flywheel will NOT work with the stock clutch.. the surface area is only 7.25" and requires a 7.25" clutch...

We sell the JWT as well (see our web-site). The JWT uses the stock clutch size, so a nismo clutch might be a possible upgrade. Th eidea behind the Tilton is to move the spinning mass inward, this is why the smaller clutch diameter. Less rotating mass = more available H.P. to the engine. This is accelleration H.P. not added H.P. to the top end. Makes for a real rush when you hammer the throttle!!!

the clutch / presure plate we installed in my car we were told would be the solutioun to a street clutch. and well, it is not totally streetable
, it makes an expirenced MT- driver seem like they are driveing a stick for the first time till they get used to it. i let a friend of mine drive my car last week, she did really shakey on starts, when cruising, (because she didnt have to shift lolol)
i am used to driving the car and love it,
what is going to make a differance is the materials the disks are made of, the cerametallic material is very grabby, the organic disks will slip easier, but i am guessing wont handle as much power as the cerametalic disks.
the clutch in my car now is best for a sc or turbo car. this is the kit to look at if you are forced induction.

What you're running isn't any different than a lot of the Supra guys... my largest concern is getting only 10-15k miles out of this type clutch.
Otherwise, I love the setup!

well, i am at 2700 miles and climbing...
i drive the heck out of my car now because it is just sooo nice at higher rpm's...
cant wait to put on my headers and suspension...

Well.... I can't denigh the quality of the Tilton set up, but I'm not pleased with their customer service. They have been dragging their feet and missing dead lines etc.... After having the rally set up in my Z previously I'm looking forward to getting my new street version and Jason is loving his set up although it's not for me. We also don't have an answer on how long these things will last in normal driving. Jason will chime in here but he already has 3K to 4K miles on his so far and beats it daily. Stay tuned as I will .... someday...... get all the parts and answers.
