UPDATE The coil packs are too high off the spark plugs and the car is very lean as a result. Pathfinder/QX4 coil packs are needed. I will buy them soon and update.

I just installed them but no change. Right now I'm guessing one of the head gaskets must be blown. I will test that soon.

Some pics. On the old spark plugs the tips were covered in oil which explains the oil consumption and why the oil has been turning black since 60-70k miles. It enters the combustion chamber, some doesn't ignite but gets burnt and turns black and then goes back down into the crank case.

I even put some silicone on the gasket of the coil packs to possibly prevent a vacuum leak I'm not seeing in the idle RPM or hearing at idle.

If it was a spark issue, the car would run rich no? Running lean doesn't make sense - an injector is faulty perhaps or they are plugged in out of sequence?

Ya it would run rich and I thought about that as well. I thought maybe it threw off timing or something or did something to make it run lean. As for injectors I don't know. I'm going to check head gaskets first and then check how the injectors are plugged in.

I have my money on a head gasket problem. and it's probably the passenger side that is blown. The ECU is monitoring that side specifically, came out on a emissions machine.

I cleaned injectors today and it has Bosch injectors. Aren't they suppose to be Injector Dynamics?

The bolts needed to use the IP Cosworth lower plenum with a stock upper plenum are M6x1.0x85

UPDATE on these valve covers. The baffle plates on these valve covers do not clear the valve train on the Revup or Non-Revup. I'm not sure which one but one doesn't clear but it's not serious. What doesn't clear are the rectangular openings for vapor to go into, they rise off the baffle plates about .25"
