Default What's my drivetrain worth?

Hey guys,
I've got a 2006 Base 6MT that I plan on swapping an LS2/T56 into shortly and was wondering what the stock VQ35DE RevUp and manual trans is worth? They are both bone stock other than the Spec Stage 3 clutch. The motor and trans will have less than 30k miles and the clutch will have less than 10k miles. Motor will be complete from throttle body to oil pan. Probably will include the harness and ECU. Would it be more profitable to part out the whole drivetrain?

You would want to keep the harness and ECU.

The ls swaps use the ecu and wiring harness for the stuff that doesn't change like the climate control.

The BCM and body harness are staying, but the ECU and engine harness are most likely going. Still working on verifying that. Thanks for all the helpful input. A rough ballpark would be nice but I guess that's too much to ask.

the trans is worth a bit. it's a CD009 which is the latest revision, the one that everyone who has an earlier revision wants to get. I don't know the dollar amount because I have never priced them - I'd take a wild guess and say like $1200 maybe on the forum? but that's truly a wild guess, as I said I've never priced one.

engine probably worth $1000, again, kind of a guess.

clutch is probably worth 50%-70% of whatever you paid for it.

The trans is worth $600-700 + shipping.

The engine may be worth a $1000, but because its a rev-up it will be harder to sell because the market is much smaller for the specific year.

I am doing the same swap and have done a bunch of research on what parts are worth.

Thanks! Even wild guesses give me data to work with.

Good to hear. This is the kind of input I was looking for. I'm sure we'll be swapping info as our projects progress.

I shal offer real info now... haha.

Z1 auto sells BRAND NEW OEM cd009 for 1695.
1200 would not be reasonable, but again, price it, and what it sells for is what it was "worth".

junkyard/slidegood/Used non updated transmissions w 30k miles sell for 300-450..

refurbed and cleaned up non updated trans also sell for 695 w warranty.

Where are you located and can you ship. I might have someone interested in the motor. Any Oil consumption history or valvetrain noise. Any sort of warranty on the motor.

The cd009 tranny used is worth about $650-$750

17k miles for $675

The engine is worth $700-$900. I have attached some sale thread on Driver for revup but those prices were couple years ago.

32k miles for $900 but 1.5 years ago

http://g35driver.com/forums/archived...ong-block.html

LIKE NEW 2,000 miles $1,600

http://g35driver.com/forums/archived...-2k-miles.html

I would think a G35 revup motor is worth more than a 350z revup motor for same mileage. I cam up with this due to the fact that g35 is heavier and not as sporty. You would be more likely to put more stress on a 350z since it is a 2 seater sports car versus a g35 sedan or g35 coupe. I am sure i will get flamed for this but being a revup motor with OIL CONSUMPTION history I would prefer a G35 sedan.

bmccann101, glad you came around

Faiz33, it'll be 2-3 months before the motor and trans are pulled out as I daily drive the Z right now, hence my ballpark mileage figure. It's only got 24.9k miles on it as of now and have been checking the oil level regularly since I bought it 3k miles ago and can verify there is no oil consumption as described in the TSB.

Are these engines prices for long blocks or complete with all the accessories, sensors, etc?
