Default Oil light + low oil pressure

Last night I noticed my oil light came on for a second and then later in the day it came on again a few times when I was in low RPMs.

I noticed my oil pressure is also very low I remember before when I would rev the engine or just drive with some more throttle the oil pressure would be around half the gauge or more. Last night it never even got to half the gauge :S

I'm pretty worried and I'm scared to drive my car now. I have no engine modifications done besides a buddy club grounding kit but I'm sure that has nothing to do with this issue.

My car only has 70,000 KMs on it and this has never happened before. What could be the problem here?

The first thing I would do is check the oil level in the crank case. I suspect you have low oil level.

Not that it matters but any chance it is an 05 or 06 6mt?

Those conditions are EXACTLY what mine did with 2 qts low oil, i'm guessing you lost oil pressure at high RPM for awhile before the oil light came on. Anywho, if it is a RevUp model it probably consumes oil and should be checked on occasion.

HAHA.... Ob just wait! These cars guzzle oil and fuel. All it takes is a decent road trip or gunning it a few times on the way home from work and then BOOM no oil pressure
