Default Strut Bar for Kinetix V+ w/ 05' hood

Hey guys,

Searched around for some people's setups, but I couldn't locate any real conclusive evidence. Basically I'm looking for a strut bar that will fit over a Kinetix V+ plenum and not rub on the plenum and the hood. I'm currently using the OEM strut bar with 3 washers for each hole as spacers. Call it weird but i just don't feel right with rigging washers under there for spacers. Seems bootlegged to me, plus whenever I want to take the bar off, or if i ever have to take it to the dealer and they have to take it off, it's a pain trying to take it off without having the washers slide out and fall all over the inside of the engine bay. By the way I now also have to tap the holes because they are all chewed up now...it is soooo easy to strip these strut bolts/holes.

The Cusco looks like a nice and thin bar but I read there's rubbing issues because the braces are too tall? Most examples i found are with people using the 5/16" spacer and not really the Kinetix.

Anyone have my setup or know of something that works pretty much out of the box?

there are bars that go in front of the engine rather than over the top of it. i think this will be your best bet although you will not be able to use the engine cover, but its an unnecessary piece anyway.

Maybe you are trying to get a strut brace to do something it is not designed to do. Compromise.

The kenitix plenum comes with the proper 1 piece spacers, the APS strut bar i mentioned does not need spacers.

+1

Mine came with spacers from Kinetix, I've been running it for about 3 years with zero problems using the oem bar. This includes about 50 auto-x events and about 12 full hours of all out track time with R-comps and street tires both.
