growling from engine
I noticed after the installation of a Z1 manifold spacer and Z1 testpipes while I was at an autocross event fat there is an occasional grinding or growling from he engine or transmission while the clutch is engaged or not. The sound varies with the engine speed. The est pipes have been removed and he sound persists. It seems more common on warmer days or after the car is warmed up. Any ideas?

Wow my phone sucks, I did not realize I was screwing up so bad. To restate my issue. In December I installed a Z1 manifold spacer and Z1 test pipes. Shortly thereafter I noticed a strange growling noise and feeling coming from the engine or possibly transmission. It varies with engine rpm and not with speed. When it is present, the clutch can be in or out and makes no difference. The test pipes have been removed and I hardly think that the manifold spacer would create this effect. It has been concerning me quite a bit recently and was looking for ideas on what the problem might be. Yes I am also aware that the Z makes a wonderful sound as the horsepower is unleashed but this is different.

Cmon, this post was funny..
now about your problem, it doesnt sound a common Z issue.
And to be honest, the growling nopise is indescript..
Id take it to a local shop and have them give you some rough ideas.. show it to them in the parking lot... free....post those answers/ideas, and we can all go from there.
laugh a little. !!
