Got a message from the tuner today. He said that we need to make a solid decision on the AC right now because I either need to get a different belt and exclude the AC compressor or hook up the hoses. He said the compressor will burn up if not. I opted to have the AC hooked up, the tuner will try and fab up the needed parts.

if he's at the point of tuning it why not just take the belt off to tune it then when you get it home work on getting the a/c working later? it's fall so you won't need it much and can spend your time on it over the winter.

Get a different belt and take time to do the A/C right later.

Going this route meow. I don't want to have to drive all the way back to VA in the spring to get the AC done and I don't know anyone local that can fab an AC system from scratch. This way I can have Franz make a nice trick switch to turn it on/off, he may be able to put it in like the stock setup. Franz may also take a shot at deciphering the CANBUS once the car is running. IF he can do that he said I can ditch the Nissan ECU all together since ViPEC can control it all.

The harness is coming together and looks incredible. He put all the trans sensors on a separate sub-harness with a single master plug so if I ever need to drop the trans for a clutch upgrade or something it is a quick single disconnect.

My SIKKY LS2 install thread-1315673959355.jpg

Also, he had me send him the stock VQ oil pressure sensor that he will mount in the stock LS pressure location. This will allow him to have the oil pressure idiot light functional like the stock system. It will also allow the ViPEC to put the car in a restricted RPM mode if this light triggers. The Defi pressure gauge will move to the remote filter head with a 1/8 NPT extension.

That pressure light is bunk. I took the sensor out of my g35. If the sensor wire is unplugged the light stays off so basically that means if the sensor fails it won't alert you of low pressure. This is the reason when i lost that oil back in january why my light never came on. One would think the smart thing would be if that sensor tripped the light if unplugged but it doesnt. crap on nissans part.

Nice updates. I'm confused on how an h pipe provides any benefit over and xpipe. Never heard of that.

James Evans (owner of JE) said that they had done both methods and the dyno results showed the H-pipe yeilded more TQ. Possibly because of a bit more back pressure with an NA application

Regardless, I just wanted some type of crossover to see if it could lessen the drone a bit while cruising on the highway. With 1-7/8" headers into a 3.5" collector into 3" duals its gonna flow just fine and be loud enough to make babies cry.

The harness is complete and has been test fit to the car. Franz is out of the country tuning for the bulk of this week, but if all goes well the car should be running shortly after he gets back. I have a few random pics of the harness on the car.

Next up is the AC lines and the switch for the compressor in the car. He also had to fix one of the coolant lines that JE did, it was pinching the hose connection shut.
