My SIKKY LS2 install thread
Since your wiring harness is done, it would be awesome to be able to buy a plug and play harness for the rest of us to do this swap. Has Franz said anything about producing harnesses? I know the demand for them would probably not be very high so I am just curious.

He was out of the country last week tuning in Canada and is back to the shop and digging out now. He hit a snag on the AC system, the Ls AC unit needs engine speed to engage the compressor clutch and that signal comes fron the Nissan CANBUS. He really wants to crack the CANBUS codes and that will fix this issue and allow the stock tach to function. He can rig a switch no problem, but I don't think that will allow the compressor to cycle once it hits temp either.
Because of this he is just getting a different belt to eliminate the compressor for the time being and he will solve this over the winter for me. I am hoping to have the car back shortly now. As usual, nothing worth doing is ever easy.
Chris let me and some of the guys in the mid-a know when its ready and we can set up a meet....dont forget the 370z crew.
Who f-ing knows?!?!
I haven't had a ton of contact with Franz as of late. All I know is he is "working on it and progress is good, but slow". No idea if its started yet or anything. The car has been gone like 6 weeks now.. not sure if I will get it back before it snows or not. Its like Bigfoot, some have seen it and there are many rumors that it exists, but no real solid proof.
I can only hope that when I get it back it still seems fun and worth it. So much money spent on something I get to enjoy so little

Fan wiring and control of when they turn on/off and such... ???
Full 3" Intake... Done
Tach made to accept the LS input signal... Done
AC wiring for on/off switch and have the Nissan canbus possibly understand the LS signal so AC clutch will function like stock... in progress
Fill with fluids, start-up and tune... ???
Teach the stock Nissan DBW throttle and pedal setup to operate the stock LS2 DBW system... ???
My understanding is that the holdup is on the AC and possibly the DBW. I just miss the car.
cass, my buddy (who did mine and vas's harness) also used to install custom ac units in old clasic cars. hes gonna be doing mine. the way he explained it was simple. he said use the ls compressor. ill get more details tonight for ya because hes doing mine in spring
Nice just found and read the whole thread
. Is Franz your ViPEC tuner? I may have to come see you next summer! Mine is running with the 3.8L again....some sort or crank sensor issue other than that break in is at 500miles and going good.
In for updates.

Gord - Very Glad you are back on the Big Dog motor!!! Hope it gives you some win this time around.
Spoke to Franz today... some small mechanical issues to work out (nothing directly related to my install job... OK, maybe one oil line), but the car should be ready to be mapped and drivien next week.
He texted me this morning about issues and said he would call around 3pm. I hit the bar hard at 1pm and he called at 2:30pm. I've been through this process several times and experience has taught me that spending money that was unanticipated is always best done with a solid buzz. You are able to handle the fail and expense better and just focus on the suspected positive outcome.
However, this is coming from someone that had 5 built motors fail, so feel free to draw your own conclusions

I had talked to a guy this summer with a blue 350z with an ls2 and i think i remember him saying he mounted a stock GTO accelerator pedal in place of his Nissan accelerator pedal assembly. Here's his cardomain site: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/384227...track-coupe-2d
Think I saw that car prior to the swap a few years ago at a show. If its the same car, he won best interior... I won best engine and best Nissan

- May take a mancation in February to see my brother and mother and get some golf in too. They live in Lake Worth and Boca. How far away are you?
