My SIKKY LS2 install thread
#283
Just a general heads up to guys considering the swap. There is a coolant fitting on the front of the LS2 (drivers side just below the TB) that works with the crossover from the heads. This should get plumbed into the top section of the radiator.
Having the whole front pulled back off to put this on since some idiot (me) ran the tabs to hold the fans through both the radiator and AC condenser
Replacing one of the SIKKY oil lines that kinked, pulling down to a single walbro hooked up in the tank, plumbing the fuel line to a 90* fitting (tuner wants it this way) and had to fix a radiator hose connect that JE installed.
Had parts needed sent 2 day air fron Summit and car should be running on Weds and getting mapped Thursday if all goes as planned. Already getting expensive and just hoping to not have anymore issues and not spend any more $$$$.

Awesome, I can't wait to see her running. Sorry to hear it is getting so expensive...this is the main reason I will be going with a GenIII engine. With all of the unforseen expenses, getting an engine that is far cheaper out of the hole may help me out in the long run. I have found several 4.8/5.3 engines in my area for <$400. Unfortunately theres no ultra cheap version of the t56

The car started today. Lots of little drama things that are causing delays, but I am very glad that I have someone as competent as Franz doing the work and looking out for me. Real short vid of initial start up:

At least I know the motor works!!

You are just SLOW!!!! Truth be told, I threw almost $5K at it in the last couple months trying to get it finished. The wife and I are having people over tomorrow night and I am such a S***box that I was pushing to have the car in the garage for the party so I didn't have to explain to all the guests where the car is.
On the upside, once I have some time with Franz he will give me a fairly comprehensive list of several little things that he encountered at the very end that were unexpected because shops aren't speaking about it.Some of it was VERY eye opening.
Hopefully some more vids coming later tonight or tomorrow. Till then, its Happy Hour Bishes!!

God damn this swap takes longer than I expect. Looks like I need to buy my bike before I jump into this.
Cant wait to see the final outcome bro.
